Learn how to manage your personal information and configure your account

View and Edit Personal Information

The Profile section allows you to manage your personal information and configure your preferences:

  1. Access the "Profile" tab in the bottom menu.
  2. In this screen you can view and edit:
    • Your name: As it will appear to other users.
    • Your password: To keep your account secure.
    • Allow other users to add me to groups: If enabled, other users can add you directly to their groups.
  3. Make the changes you want and tap "Update Profile" to save them.

Note: The email address and registration date cannot be modified, as they are identifying data for your account.

Change or Remove Profile Photo

You can personalize your profile with a photo:

  1. In the Profile section, tap on your image or the "Change Photo" button.
  2. Select an image from your gallery.
  3. The application will allow you to crop the image in a circular shape.
  4. Confirm to set the new profile photo.

If you want to remove your profile photo:

  1. In the Profile section, tap the "Remove Photo" button.
  2. Confirm the action in the pop-up message.

Authorize Notifications

To receive alerts about new trips, join requests, and agreement responses:

  1. If you use Android 13 or higher, you need to explicitly authorize push notifications.
  2. In the Profile section, a "Authorize Notifications" button will appear (only visible if you haven't granted permission yet).
  3. Tap this button and confirm in the system dialog.

Note: Push notifications allow you to receive instant alerts without having to open the application.

Log Out

If you want to exit your account on the current device:

  1. In the Profile section, tap the Log Out button.
  2. Confirm the action in the pop-up message.

Note: When logging out, your session data will be removed from the current device. This will not affect your account or your data in the application.

Delete Profile

If you no longer want to use ComparTrip, you can permanently delete your account:

  1. In the Profile section, tap the Delete Profile button.
  2. A warning message will appear informing you of the consequences.
  3. If you are sure, confirm the action.

Important:

  • You cannot delete your profile if you still belong to any group. You must first leave all your groups.
  • Your past trip data will still be visible to other members of your former groups.
  • You will receive a confirmation email with a history of the groups you have belonged to.
  • If you want the complete deletion of your data according to GDPR, you should contact the Data Protection Officer at dpd@compartrip.app.

Email Notifications

ComparTrip keeps its users informed through emails in various situations:

  • Account verification when registering.
  • Password recovery.
  • Joining new groups.
  • Group deletion.
  • Acceptance or rejection of agreements.
  • Profile deletion confirmation.

Note: Make sure you keep your email address updated and check your inbox regularly so you don't miss important information.
